Updates for New Dealership coming in early 2022!
Its finally starting! After many years of planning and planning we are finally about to start construction of our brand new state of the art dealership that will be located on the corner of Durham St and Millenium Way in the Kincardine business park. We will be across the street from the Marriott and kiddy corner to Tim Hortons. We have many upgrades and surprises so make sure to check often for updates and news on what is coming. Its going to be a busy year but we are excited for a fabulous 2022!!
Domm construction will be our general contractor for the project.
Here we are about to start excavation. This will be huge project as we will be removing all the top soil plus a significant hill to level out the future lot.
Interesting fact: There will be approximately 700 truckloads moved during the excavation process.
This is looking north from the Mariott parking lot. The basics of the parking lot are in and it is starting to take shape. We can now see the extra space we will have for inventory and customer parking. LOTS of space for customer parking and service vehicles.
Interesting fact: We will be expanding our parking lot by approximately 56%.
Big day as the building is finally started! The footings are in and this location would be standing at the rear corner of the service department. You can see the indents where the future service bay doors on the west side will be located.
Interesting fact: Our new sevice dept will be approximately 32% bigger than our current one. Lots of new features coming there. Details to follow. You will want to stay in touch to see updates on all of them.
Soon the building will be out of the ground! The walls are soon to be done. From this view you will be looking into the south west corner of the showroom. The pier support you see at the right is for one side of the blue Chevrolet arch and the main entrance.
Interesting fact: Due to the use of highly efficient glass and building materials the new building is expected to be more efficient than our current one even though it will be much larger.
The building is finally out of the ground! We can now start to see what the final size will be. Not seen in the picture but also beign worked on is the "underground" elements like stormweater management etc.
A lot of work has been done since the last post but it has mainly been work that cannot been seen. The sewer and storm water management work is mostly complete along with the many conduits etc that are now running underground. As you can see in the picture the walls are going up and in the next few weeks things will be changing drastically so stay tuned!
Today is a big day, the roof has arrived!. Hoping they can get it installed in between rain so we will see. Lots of work continuing inside doing the undergroound work preparing for the concrete floor to be poured.A lot got accomplished today. The roof got started, the plumbing underground for the front of the dealerhsip is done and as you can see the insulation and steel is down so hopefully tommorow the concrete floor will be poured.
Here is a picture of our drive thru. Its all ready for concrete tomorrow hopefully! Wondering what that black tub is? Can't tell you yet but it willl be a game changer. Stayed tuned for more on that later as it comes together. One hint is "Big city amenities at small town prices!"Lots of work going on today. The roofing crews are going full steam with their install, the concrete is being poured as you can see from the pump trucks, the exterior lot is being graded and finally the work continues on the back half of the dealership preping for concrete to be poured. The first half of the floor is poured as you can see. Everything seems so much bigger now. Great job on the finishing of the floor. Here you can see the prep work for where the ACM panels will go and the signage and dealer letters. In the very front of the building you can see where the Chevrolet arch will be moved to soon.Things are coming along quickly. The glass and doors are going in and should be finished in a day or so. The roof is done and very soon the garage doors will be arriving. Hopefully everything will be closed in soon so if we get any bad weather it will not slow down the work. The interior work has started. The walls are going up and it is nice to be able to see what the final space will actually look like. Soon the buildiing will be closed in and the "glamour" work or interior finishes will start.Work continues on the outside while the weather is still good. Today was a big day as they moved the arch to its new location. Some modifications need to be made for it but soon it will be getting measured for new panels as will the rest of the front and sides.
As you can see the interior is coming along nicely. Most of the drywall is up and primer is on. Next is to finish the drywall, start paint and finish the ductwork as you can see in the ceiling. Things are moving fast!
Here is the service dept. Some of the equipment has been installed but most of the work being done is electric, systems like oil lines and wash bays. What a colour! The first coats of the actual colour is starting to go on so it is really starting to look like the final product. The whole site is a bee hive of activitiy as work is being done both inside (lucky ones) and outside on the facade. Now that will brighten things up! The ceilings in the showroom and the service department are being painted so that will really make the areas bright. Stay tuned for tile pictures coming soon!!
